I don't know if it's the volcano from Iceland or just coincidence but in last month we had only three days of sun. Temperatures are the same as they were in March, so I started to be little bit desperate to get warm and decided to learn knit. Well my mother used to be good at it, but she was never willing to teach me. I turned on my computer and found some YouTube tutorials how to knit and found some show where very crazy girl teach young kids to do that and guess what, it's actually pretty good. Next day I went to buy bamboo needles and some wool and started pretty big scarf to warm up my upper body. Don't worry I will post result, but when I'm finished. My dearest gave me a gift. It's not just a gift to me, it's THE GIFT. If you have read previous posts, you might noticed, I've been applying for art school in Prague and yes, I wrote about it a lot. Anyway I found that the main artist in the studio, leading professor of the studio wrote a book. Well not novel or anything, it's just cut of his work, with opinions of other people in the art field and my dad promised me to give me this book if I'll be accepted. Well I was, but my dad is going through the hard times now so I didn't even want to remind him, he promised that. Well it's an expensive book and as a reward for being student again I'll go to Canada for a summer, got another experience. Anyway when I came home after weekend, I found a wrapped gift on my bed and go figure, it was The Book. Something I really really wanted for a long time. First of all it's important for me to read about work of my professor soon to be, don't you think? Second it's pretty well made book with beautiful prints and third - the cover is heat sensitive, so when you hold it for a longer, you can see your hand printed on it. You have no idea how happy it made me, silly I know.
Well I took some pictures, so I can at least partly share with you guys, but some pictures are crappy, it's getting darker outside...

Hello dear readers. Spring is almost over and the weather is... ...well disaster.
I'm on antibiotics with sore throat, I got pinky eye so my health obviously is disaster as well.
Most important, my crappy MacBook's CD slot doesn't want to work, disk is full, external hard drive is full... So yes, you're right, even my computer is a disaster!
Bad news has good news... it convinced me to go through pictures on my computer so I got something to upload...

I know I made such a big deal of the spring being finally here, but I forgot to upload something two months ago. I found few pictures from the last day of my talent exam. Think they deserve to be shared.
So if you wonder about technology, it's based on principe of camera obscura but instead of one hole I made 5. And why I used this? Task was "Getting Lost" and I picked as a topic book I read not so long ago The Diving Bell And The Butterfly. If you are curious more about it, just write. So we had couple of beautiful days here, weather is amazing and invites you to go out and make love in the grass. Earth smells good, birds are singing and season of picnics is coming. With denim jacket I found in my closet, I'm waiting for the day when we all go out and spend whole day in the park without complaining about cold.
Last year I visited exhibition Andy Warhol Motion Pictures, exhibition of artist's famous screen tests and silent movies and to be honest with you, dear readers, this became my favorite type of video art. It's very symbolic, emotional and in Warhol's case erotic. Some people wrongly consider this section of Warhol's work as some addition to his artworks. People, seriously? Just look at that and those shots are maybe even more than printed icons. They simply are alive icons. Some people might think this is disturbing, I think it's amazing.
And why am I writing about exhibition I saw more than year ago? I found current screen tests of models before photo shooting on YouTube and this made me think about video art in general. I don't think many people does that, at least here in Czech republic even it's somewhere between photography and filming. I already checked my classes for the next year of study and we will have required classes of filming, so this could be a good preparation and I would have something to show already. Something to consider.
